Aims and Scope

Biochar and Compost Technology (BCT) is an international professional academic journal that covers multidisciplinary topics like agriculture, environmental science, and materials science, etc. It reports new, relevant, and significant findings related the preparation and processing of biochar and compost, as well as their beneficial roles, such as soil fertility improvement, biochar-containing materials for environmental applications (agriculture, poultry production, cementation, etc.), climate change, remediation of the contaminated environment (soils and water), water purification, and new analytical techniques, etc. Biochar and Compost Technology publish different kinds of articles, such as original research, technical notes, viewpoint, and reviews. The goal of the journal is to report on important research findings, publish key critical reviews that help us understand biochar and compost technology are going on, and encourage academic exchange and the growth of science and technology.

Biochar and Compost Technology (BCT) publishes articles related to biochar and compost, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Processing and preparing biochar and compost (pyrolysis and composting approaches) made from organic wastes for environmental uses.
  • Remediation and purification of contaminated soils and water.
  • Influence of biochar and compost materials on climate changes.
  • Energy production from biochar and composting process.
